About me
Hello, My name is Iana Botchkarnikova. I am local Calgarian Fine Art Artist.
My love for painting happened long ago during elementary school. Brief praise by an art teacher turned my interest in painting into a deep love lasting throughout my life. During my studies at the University of Food Processing and College of Nutrition in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and many years working as a pastry chef with highest qualifications, I gained extensive work experience with diverse materials and ingredients. I started to paint on my cakes and even won first prize at the Cake Competition for my culinary artwork.
The first grand art project was decorating my living space: the walls of my children’s room became my canvas. To further develop my artistic skills, I started taking private lessons, later switching to Swinton’s Art classes with Paula Henchel, where I still continue to paint and learn. Recently, I am taking the Academic Painting course at Online Painting Academy School, Saint Petersburg.
I feel my dream could never have come true without the unconditional support of my multi-talented family. Being a happy wife and mother of two wonderful sons, I receive inspiration from my daily life and express it in every work of mine, which I paint with love.
